If you have ever wondered how CBD and alcohol interact a new study has answered that question.
In the study, entitled “Interaction of cannabidiol and alcohol in humans,” subjects were given in treatments spaced one week apart – Placebo, Cannabidiol (CBD), CBD and alcohol, Alcohol.
The results? Compared to the placebo, the alcohol and alcohol plus CBD treatments produced “significant impairments of motor and psychomotor performances, overestimations of time production and subjective responses indicating an accurate self-perception of their intoxication and deficits.”
However, the combination of alcohol plus CBD resulted in significantly lower blood alcohol levels compared to alcohol given alone. Also, the CBD alone treatment produced no impairments.
Researchers said about the results “the inactivity of CBD, a major marijuana constituent, on the motor and mental performance and effects also extends to its interaction with alcohol.”
