Why CBD Doesn’t Work

Almost everyday, we hear from who have had frustrating experiences with CBD. Maybe you’ve had similar experiences, especially if you:

  • Took CBD as an oil, gummy, or other edible
  • Tried a generic CBD formula
  • Quickly stopped using CBD after not seeing fast results
  • Chose a cheap, low-quality CBD brand

If that sounds familiar to your experience, you’re in luck! These are common pitfalls that CBD customers often fall into, but are ways to avoid these issues entirely. Below, we’ll discuss these issues (and more) in detail, why they prevent a fully satisfying CBD experience, and what you can do to make sure you get the full benefits that CBD has to offer.

Problem #1: Using CBD Products with Low Bioavailability

The biggest problem customers face when trying to use CBD products is the lack of bioavailability. In short, bioavailability refers to how easily medicine or other substances  (including CBD) can be absorbed into your body. If you’re using a CBD product with low bioavailability, then you may not have had enough CBD absorbed into your body to feel the active effects.

Factors that Affect Bioavailability

Not sure what impacts CBD’s bioavailability? There are several factors that can increase, or decrease, CBD’s ability to absorb into your bloodstream:

  • Method of Use: Patches or inhaled forms of CBD usually have higher levels of bioavailability because in this delivery method, the CBD avoids the digestive system. Ingestible forms of CBD, like oils or capsules, usually have low levels of bioavailability, since your digestive system destroys most of the CBD.
  • Product Purity: If your CBD product has ingredient fillers or contaminants, you’re not going to get the levels of absorption you would with pure CBD products.
  • Product Design: Certain CBD products may be specifically designed from the beginning to increase bioavailability (like PhenoLife). This is especially important for ingestible forms of CBD, since it has to survive harsh stomach acids.

Problem #2: Using the Wrong CBD Formula

Another common issue we see customers face is getting the wrong kind of CBD formula. If you don’t get a CBD formula that’s a good match for your challenge, then you may not get the results you were hoping for. Let’s take a look at the kinds of CBD formulas that you’ll commonly see on the market.

Broad-Spectrum CBD

Broad-spectrum CBD is the same as full-spectrum CBD, except the trace amounts of THC have been removed. This may allow customers to still benefit from the entourage effect from other cannabinoids and terpenes present in the products while avoiding THC.

CBD-Isolate

Products made with CBD-isolate will contain only CBD. None of the other cannabinoids or terpenes present in the sourced will be present. This means customers won’t be able to benefit from the entourage effect, and customers will generally pay a premium price, since isolating CBD requires extensive processing.

Catered Formulas

Many CBD brands create CBD formulas that include other active ingredients to help target specific health challenges. Choosing a CBD product that’s targeted to help anxiety when you’re looking to manage chronic pain might not give you the results you were hoping for.

If you are trying to hone in on a targeted health challenge, a catered, full-spectrum CBD formula is the best choice for maximum results.

Problem #3: Inconsistent or Improper CBD Dosing

This is one of the most common problems we see with customers that say that they felt some effects from CBD but never got the results they were looking for. It’s a confusing issue because most customers will feel CBD the very first time they take it, but they won’t get the best results on the first dose

To start, your first dose is not likely to be the amount of CBD you take forever. Regardless of what CBD product you use, we usually recommend our customers start with low doses and slowly work their way up as they understand how a specific product will make them feel. Starting with a huge CBD dose can cause uncomfortable side-effects.

CBD Needs Consistent Dosing To Work

Not only do you need to work up to your ideal dose of CBD, but you need to regularly take it to begin to feel the best effects. Usually, this takes up around 10 days of daily CBD dosing of any product you choose. We’ve noticed many customers take CBD for just a few days and quit without giving the CBD enough time to fully saturate the body.

Give yourself time to find the ideal dose and then consistently take that dose for the best effects.

Problem #4: Choosing the Wrong Delivery System

As we mentioned in the previous point, different forms of CBD offer different advantages for customers. Certain delivery methods of CBD are better for helping to manage certain health challenges, and a delivery mismatch can make it feel like CBD isn’t offering the benefits it’s supposed to. Here’s a quick overview of the primary kinds of CBD and what to expect during use:

Inhalable Forms of CBD

Forms of CBD that you can inhale will enter your bloodstream the fastest, and since it bypasses your digestive system, the bioavailability of inhaled CBD is generally high (around 30%). This form of CBD is great for sudden, unexpected problems, like acute pain or a attack, but the effects don’t last very long compared to ingestible forms of CBD or transdermal patches.

Transdermal CBD Patches

Transdermal CBD patches allow for consistent CBD dosing for up to 8 hours, and with bioavailability levels at 80%, they are perfect for consistent, long-term dosing. However, it can take a while for the CBD to absorb through your skin and reach your bloodstream, which makes patches a poor choice for sudden, unexpected issues.

Also, transdermal patches are not the same as topical CBD lotions. Topical lotions may provide some local relief directly where applied, but they are not designed to deliver CBD into the bloodstream. That means using lotions to help with widespread pain or anxiety will never provide the results you want.

Ingestible Forms of CBD

Finally, ingestible forms of CBD, while popular, have notoriously low bioavailability levels. Most ingestible forms only have 6% bioavailability, which means products like oils, tinctures, or capsules need extra potent, consistent doses to be effective. Ingestible CBD tends to have longer effects than inhalable forms of CBD and will usually take effect faster than transdermal patches.

Problem #5: Fraudulent CBD Products

In the UK, the CBD isn’t regulated by a formal government body. That means it’s up to CBD brands to police themselves to provide pure, high-grade products. Some less reputable brands will add fillers to their CBD products (and not disclose it), or they may be lying how much CBD is in their products.

This is a common issue. A performed by the National Institute of Health showed that, from their sampling of CBD products, 26% contained less CBD than advertised, while 43% contained more CBD than advertised. This same study also showed that 21% of these products also contained THC levels above the legal limit, which was “enough to intoxicate children.”

Your CBD product may not have worked because it didn’t have the amount of CBD as advertised.

How PhenoLife Makes CBD That Works

If you think that you’re ready to give CBD another try, then take a look at how PhenoLife resolves these common problems with CBD

PhenoLife Products Offer Superior Bioavailability

We have crafted our products specifically to increase bioavailability. First, our products like the PhenoPen and the PhenoPatch have naturally high rates of absorption. Next, our PhenoGel capsules use advanced microencapsulation technology to offer superior bioavailability to traditional CBD ingestible products.

PhenoGel capsules are made with a protective coating that prevents CBD from being destroyed by your stomach acid (and that protective coating is dissolved from a specific enzyme released from the pancreas). Then, the microbead technology releases our CBD formula in a controlled dose, which gives your body a chance to absorb more CBD (while also helping the effects last longer).

PhenoLife Uses Full-Spectrum, Targeted Formulas For Superior Results

PhenoLife uses full-spectrum CBD in all of our products, since we want our products to provide the best results possible. We’ve also created targeted formulas for the three most common health challenges that CBD has the potential to help manage:

  • Body for managing pain
  • Mind for soothing anxiety
  • Sleep for encouraging a full night of sleep

All three of our formulas are available with PhenoPen, PhenoGel, and PhenoPatch.

PhenoLife Offers the Best CBD Delivery Systems

PhenoLife has developed three primary methods of taking CBD, each that have their own pros and cons of use:

PhenoPen

PhenoPen creates a vapor that is inhaled by users, which quickly delivers CBD into the bloodstream. This form of CBD is ideal for fast-acting relief for acute, onset challenges (like unexpected pain or an anxiety attack). However, the effects are short-lived, which may present an issue for customers looking for a longer-lasting option (like for help sleeping).

PhenoPatch

PhenoPatch is a transdermal patch that is applied directly onto your skin to deliver a slow, controlled dose of CBD. The patch lasts up to 8 hours, which makes it a great choice for customers wanting to use CBD to help get a good night’s rest, or for customers that want an all-day CBD solution.

However, it can take 45 minutes to an hour for customers to feel the effects of the PhenoPatch, which makes it a less optimal choice for trying to manage acute pain or a bout of unexpected stress.

PhenoGel

PhenoGel is a slow-release gel capsule specifically designed to enhance CBD absorption. The effects of the capsules take longer than the PhenoPen, but the effects will last longer than inhaling vapor. PhenoGel capsules will begin to take effect faster than the PhenoPatch, but the effects last a few hours less than the patches.

PhenoGel shines as a convenient way to take CBD regardless of where you are. If you want a discrete, easy way to take CBD (without having to manage a patch), then PhenoGel may be your ideal choice.

Combined Solutions

We encourage customers to combine PhenoLife products if there ’t seem to be a single product that meets their needs. This is a common practice for customers who struggle to fall asleep and stay asleep, who want to manage chronic pain consistently but also experience acute pain spikes, or who want to keep general anxiety low while also being prone to panic attacks.

PhenoLife Takes CBD Seriously

We want our customers to trust us, but we understand that trust has to be earned. That’s why we perform third-party lab testing on all of our products, which demonstrates:

  • The amount of CBD labeled on products is accurate
  • The amount of other labeled cannabinoids is accurate
  • The lack of contamination from heavy metals

We also work to educate customers on the best way to take CBD, including ideal initial doses, how to step up to more potent doses, and techniques to follow if the desired results aren’t being experienced.

How CBD Lab Testing Works & Why It’s Important

When customers start shopping for ideal CBD products, they’re often overwhelmed by the enormous amount of products and brands to choose from. While we encourage customers to find CBD products that fit their lifestyle, there is one quality that never be compromised on: third party lab tests.

Independent, 3rd party tests are the first thing you should look for in any CBD product.

Let’s discuss how testing works for CBD products, and why it’s so important to make sure any CBD product you buy has been tested.

How CBD Testing Works: The Process

The process of testing CBD is simple. A brand will send a sample to an independent, 3rd party lab, and that lab will run a test to see all the compounds or impurities that might be in the product. For CBD products, a lab result will show:

  • All cannabinoids and terpenes naturally present in the sourced
  • Any impurities present, like heavy metals or pesticides

Most brands have lab available on their website for easy viewing, while others will have information on where to see lab results on their product packaging. Often, brands may incorporate both to make sure that customers have easy access to lab reports.

What is 3rd Party Testing

Third party testing means that the lab that is testing the CBD products is not affiliated with the brand or the CBD industry in any way. The separation of the lab from the entire CBD industry helps remove any potential conflict of interests, and customers can fully trust the results from the lab.

The Importance of Testing

Third party testing is crucially important to making sure your CBD product is pure and safe. Most countries (including the USA and the UK), don’t regulate the CBD industry, which means there’s no legal consequence for a brand to lie about how pure their product is.

If your CBD product isn’t pure, you’ll run into issues with trying to get the best results. If there’s simply less CBD in the product than claimed, you’ll run into issues with absorption and getting the you’re looking for. If there’s heavy metals or pesticides present, the product could be a danger to your , and could even exacerbate the health issues you’re trying to manage.

What Companies Test & Why

  • To confirm purity: This is the primary reason for third party testing. It confirms that there is only hemp-derived materials in the product (or the only ingredients present are the ones advertised). It also confirms the concentration of CBD, which can be helpful for dosing.
  • To avoid heavy metals and pesticides: The presence of heavy metals and pesticides can be harmful, and it also indicates a fundamental problem in the manufacturing process.

Lab Testing: What to Look For

There are a lot of different kinds of third party tests a brand may conduct. Depending on what you want to avoid (or what you want to make sure you have), you may want to make sure that a specific brand conducts a specific kind of test:

Liquid Chromatography (or LC)

Liquid chromatography (or high-performance liquid chromatography, shortened to LC or HPLC respectively), is the test that is conducted to show what kinds of cannabinoids are present in a CBD product and what concentrations they have.

This test is important if you are trying to use certain kinds of cannabinoids (for example, if a brand claims to have an added concentration of a minor , LC will prove that the cannabinoid is present at those higher concentrations). LC will also show which cannabinoids are lacking (which is important if you are buying CBD isolate, which only contains CBD).

Polymerase Chain Reactions (PCR)

Polymerase chain reactions (or PCR) tests are used to make sure there isn’t contamination of bacteria, fungus, or other foreign biological . This test won’t tell you anything about what kinds of cannabinoids are present, but it will help to ensure there aren’t any harmful biological contaminants that you should avoid.

For CBD products, the PCR test makes sure that the hemp was harvested and stored safely (mold can be a significant issue with harvested cannabis).

Mass Spectrometry (MS)

Finally, mass spectrometry, or MS, testing is used to confirm that there are no heavy metals present in your CBD product. Poor manufacturing standards are what most commonly cause heavy metal contamination, and heavy metal poisoning can cause severe health issues.

Some brands may use MS testing to determine what cannabinoids are present, similar to LC. This is another common use for MS testing, though both LC and MS testing will provide the most accurate cannabinoid profiles.

Who ’t Do it & Why

Since testing is so important, it may be confusing why a brand would skip the testing process.

  • Testing costs money and is optional: Since the market is unregulated, brands don’t have to test their products. So, if one is interested in trying to make as much money as possible instead of providing a consistently pure, high-quality product, they may skip the testing phase.
  • New to market: A brand may be brand-new to the market and not yet able to get tests back on their products. This could be an innocent mistake (maybe the brand is still learning how to best safeguard the purity of their product). Regardless, this is not a good reason to skip lab testing.
  • Communication : It’s very possible that a brand does conduct third party testing, but they don’t offer the lab results on their site. This is a frequent occurrence, especially for brands that may not rely heavily on online sales. If you come across a brand that looks great, but you can’t find the lab tests, ask! Almost any brand will provide lab results when requested (if they are getting lab tests to begin with).

If you come across a brand that seems suspiciously inexpensive, check to see if they offer third-party lab results. If they don’t, that’s likely why they can offer such cheap prices, and you should choose a more trustworthy brand.

PhenoLife: Third Party Tested with Certificate of Analysis

Our primary focus is to make sure that PhenoLife products are pure, safe, and easy to absorb. That means we take third party testing seriously, and we have performed it on all of our products since our inception.

Customers can look at our certificate of analysis (or COA) which shows the results of third party lab reports we request. You’ll be able to see:

  • The full cannabinoid profile of our products
  • The concentrations of each cannabinoid present
  • Results showing no biological contamination
  • Results showing no heavy metal contamination

If you have questions about our COA, the kinds of lab tests we request, or anything regarding the purity of our products, please ask! We’ll make sure that you can confidently buy knowing that PhenoLife is provably pure and safe.

Trick or Treat: The CBD facts (or myths) explained.

In the spirit of Halloween, the experts at PhenoLife want to dive into the tricks or treats of CBD. The following six statements will either be a treat about CBD (something that is true) or a trick (something that is not true about CBD).

TRICK or TREAT: CBD Gets You High

There can be a lot of confusion about how CBD affects you. After all, it comes from cannabis (which is famous for high), and many customers are concerned that using CBD will get them unexpectedly or uncomfortably high.

So, is this a trick or a treat?

CBD Gets Your High: Trick

This is a trick. While CBD is found in cannabis, it is not intoxicating. The compound responsible for the traditional high associated with cannabis is THC, which is a restricted substance in most countries. However, CBD is unrestricted in most countries, largely in part to the fact that it doesn’t make you high.

However, just because CBD doesn’t get you high doesn’t mean you won’t feel it. CBD can make you sleep and can affect your mood, and there’s a small percentage of people who won’t tolerate the effects of CBD well. However, the vast majority of customers that use CBD will avoid some of the uncomfortable side-effects, especially if they start with low, comfortable doses.

TRICK or TREAT: All CBD Products is the Same

The market is full of CBD choices, and while there’s a difference in how you can take CBD, there’s not a difference in the CBD itself, right?

All CBD is the Same: Trick

This is a huge trick. There are enormous differences between CBD products (aside from products being oils, capsules, etc.). First, the kind of CBD used can be . Customers are often surprised (and a bit confused), when they discover that there are three kinds of CBD:

  • Full-spectrum CBD: This is the least processed form of CBD. It contains all of the naturally occurring cannabinoids and found in hemp, which may help the CBD product be more effective. PhenoLife products use full-spectrum CBD in all of their products.
  • Broad-spectrum CBD: This form of CBD is slightly more processed. It still contains many of the natural cannabinoids and terpenes found in hemp, with the noticeable lack of THC. Some customers may want to avoid THC, even legal, trace amounts, but also take advantage of the other natural cannabinoids and terpenes present in the hemp.
  • CBD isolate: This is the most processed form of CBD. It contains only CBD (so no other cannabinoids or terpenes). This form of CBD is usually the most expensive, since it requires far more effort to make sure that only CBD is present.

In addition to the different kinds of CBD, there’s a difference between the same kinds of CBD. Most countries don’t regulate the CBD industry at all, which means companies can lie about what kind of CBD is in their product, how much CBD is in their product, and whether or not there’s something else in their product besides CBD.

This is why you should always make sure that any CBD products you buy are tested by a third-party lab, and that you have access to those results. Third-party is a common practice by high-end CBD brands, and it’s the only way you can know for sure what is and is not in your CBD product.

TRICK or TREAT: CBD Helps with

Anxiety can be difficult to manage for many people. Some may have trouble getting access to healthcare to get prescriptions, while others may struggle to handle the side-effects of anti-anxiety medications like Zoloft or Prozac. Even medications for acute anxiety, like Xanax, are hard to use while you need to go about your normal day.

So, can CBD help with anxiety?

CBD Helps with Anxiety: Treat

Treat! While the research into CBD is still pretty early, the research that we have strongly suggests that CBD can help to manage all kinds of anxiety disorders. A 2015 study suggests that CBD may be able to treat a wide range of anxiety disorders without harmful side-effects.

Another 2019 study showed that 79% of participants reported lower anxiety in the first month of using CBD, and those positive results continued to be reported the months that the study was conducted. If you have anxiety , and you want to stop taking traditional anti-anxiety medications (or you can’t take them or don’t have access to them) CBD could be an option.

TRICK or TREAT: CBD Helps When You’ve Gotten Too High

If you have legal access to THC products, you may have experienced a situation when you’ve gotten “too high.” While this won’t create a medical emergency, it can still be an uncomfortable experience that lasts for hours.

There’s several purported home remedies (like sucking on a lemon or chewing peppercorns), but several people have begun to say that CBD might be able to help, too. So, can CBD help when you’ve gotten too high?

CBD Helps When You’ve Gotten Too High: Treat

Treat! There’s some early research that suggests CBD can help you from getting too high and can soothe a high that is too strong. Since THC and CBD with your endocannabinoid receptors the same way, if CBD attaches first, it will block THC from attaching, so you won’t get as high or for as long.

CBD can also help soothe the negative side-effects of THC, especially increasing anxiety or stress. As we’ve already mentioned CBD can help to reduce anxiety, so it can help to level out your high if you begin to feel stressed or panicked.

Research into how THC and CBD interact is still early, but if you have legal access to THC and accidentally get too high, then CBD might be able to help!

TRICK or TREAT: CBD Can Be Absorbed Through Your Skin

Most people know that you can inhale or ingest CBD to get results, but there are several different kinds of products that are now available on the market.. There are CBD-infused bath bombs, lotions, and even patches, all claiming to be able to deliver CBD into the bloodstream. It’s natural to be skeptical about this claim, so can CBD be absorbed through your skin?

CBD Can Be Absorbed Through the Skin: Treat

Treat! CBD can be absorbed through the skin, but there’s a bit of nuance that customers should be aware of. Topical products, or products like creams that are placed on the skin, will not pass into your bloodstream. They can provide relief where they are placed (for example, rubbing a CBD lotion on sore muscles), but you won’t get the benefits that you would from inhaling or ingesting.

However, if you look at transdermal products, the story changes. Transdermal means that a substance passes through the skin into the bloodstream. Transdermal CBD products are usually patches (like the PhenoPatch), and they deliver CBD into your bloodstream like ingesting or inhaling.

Transdermal CBD products have an enormous advantage in absorption. Since they stay on your skin for hours, and the CBD will completely bypass your digestive system, your body has the time to absorb the vast majority of the CBD present. For example, the PhenoPatch has 80% bioavailability, the highest of PhenoLife’s CBD products.

CBD can be absorbed through the skin, but if you’re looking to get the same effects as ingesting or inhaling CBD, make sure you get transdermal CBD products, not topical.

TRICK or TREAT: CBD Is Addicting

There’s a lot of people that still don’t know much about CBD or cannabis, which can lead to some confusion about how CBD impacts the body. A common question (or belief) is that CBD is addicting, so let’s take a look! Is CBD addicting?

CBD Is Addicting: Trick!

There is no research to indicate that CBD is addicting. In fact, it’s possible that CBD may help resolve addiction to other harmful substances. Regardless, you can rest assured knowing that CBD is not addictive, nor is there currently evidence of harm due to long-term use.

Conclusion

There’s a lot to learn about CBD, and a lot of easy ways to get confused about what CBD really does. To wrap up some our tricks and treats, we learned that CBD:

  • Doesn’t get you high
  • Exists in several forms and may vary in quality and purity from brand to brand
  • May help to manage anxiety
  • Might help soothe intense highs caused by THC
  • Can be absorbed through the skin via transdermal patches
  • Is not addicting

A CBD Beginner’s Guide

New to CBD? We’ve created a to help beginners navigate using CBD for the first time.

We’ll discuss what CBD is, the different ways you can take CBD, how to choose quality CBD products, and what to expect when you start to use CBD products.

Getting Started with CBD

Before you dive into taking CBD, it’s good to understand what CBD actually is, where it comes from, and the different options you have to take it.

What is CBD

CBD is short for cannabidiol, which is a cannabinoid naturally found in cannabis. Specifically, CBD is found in high concentrations in , which is a type of cannabis that readily grows in a variety of different conditions.

Unlike other well-known cannabinoids, like THC, CBD ’t have an intoxicating effect on the user. It won’t make you high like marijuana (another kind of cannabis) will, because it doesn’t have high enough concentrations of THC and other cannabinoids that can create the classic “stoned” effect marijuana is famous for.

Ways to Take CBD

There’s a lot of different ways to take CBD, and each style of CBD offers unique :

Topicals (creams)

CBD can be absorbed through the skin, which means it can be directly applied to areas of inflammation for pain relief. CBD creams are common for this reason and are often used to relieve  aching muscles or joint pain related to conditions like arthritis.

Inhaler

CBD inhalers (or vaporizers) are a common way to use CBD. With this method, cartridges in the device are connected to batteries, which heat the CBD oil inside. This vaporizes the oil, which can then be inhaled by the user. Inhaling CBD creates a fast effect, but the effect doesn’t last as long as ingesting CBD through capsules or oils.

Capsules

CBD capsules are another common choice to take CBD. With capsules, all you have to do is swallow your preferred dose like you would a vitamin. Since the CBD is more concentrated, the will last much longer than the CBD you inhale. However, since it has to work its way through your digestive system before it hits your bloodstream, it will take longer to feel the effects.

Unlike oils, capsules are pre-doses and tasteless, which may appeal to customers looking for a hassle-free way to take CBD.

Oils

CBD oils were one of the earliest ways to take CBD, and they continue to be a popular choice. To use them, an eyedropper is used to pull out the oil (and the dropper is sometimes marked with measurements), and then the desired dose is dropped underneath the tongue. Oils, like capsules, offer a potent CBD experience, though they also take longer than inhaling CBD.

Unlike capsules, oils have a few roadblocks that may not appeal to some customers. First, the taste of oils can be , and the natural flavor of cannabis may not be appealing to some customers. Even when flavors are added, many customers don’t enjoy the taste. Also, it is difficult to precisely measure doses with oils, especially if your eyedropper doesn’t have measurements marked.

Patches

CBD patches are an easy way to get controlled, sustained doses of CBD. Since the CBD will pass through your skin, customers enjoy high levels of bioavailability, and patches can easily be worn during the day or through the night. Patches can take up to an hour to start taking effect, so other product forms will be a better choice for fast-acting relief.

CBD Quality

CBD is unregulated by most governments, including the U.S. and the U.K.) which means there’s no legal enforcement of purity or quality standards. This can make it difficult for beginners to find a quality product (and beginners who end up with subpar CBD products can be turned off from using CBD entirely).

Fortunately, there’s a few quality markers to look for when shopping for a CBD product, which can help new and veteran customers alike find a high-quality, reliable brand:

Any trustworthy CBD brand will provide 3rd party lab results of their products. This is the only reliable way to know if the CBD product is pure. If a brand doesn’t offer independent 3rd party lab results, then we encourage you to continue looking for a brand that is willing to be transparent and honest about the product they’re selling.

Bioavailability

Another hallmark to look for in CBD is bioavailability. CBD bioavailability refers to how much of the CBD ends up making it to your bloodstream before it’s destroyed by your digestive system or otherwise removed by the body. Bioavailability is important because it allows lower doses of CBD to be more effective, which means you can take less CBD at a time, saving you money.

Not all brands will talk about the bioavailability of their products (even high-quality brands). To help set you on the right track, we’ve ranked the common forms of CBD by their level of bioavailability, starting with the styles with the easiest absorption:

  1. Topicals (creams/patches) (up to 80% bioavailability)
  2. Inhaled forms of CBD (up to 35% bioavailability)
  3. Capsules (6% bioavailability, if not specifically formulated for absorption, like PhenoGel)
  4. Oils (6% bioavailability)

Choosing a brand that focuses on bioavailability is important to get the most out of the CBD you use. PhenoLife has made bioavailability a top priority among our products, creating formulas that are easily absorbed and are slowly released into your bloodstream.

How it Works

CBD works by interacting with your , which is responsible for regulating functions like appetite, mood, and sleep. It also works as an anti-inflammatory, which is why some people look to CBD to certain kinds of pain (more on that in a few sections below).

Time it Takes

When customers ask about how long it takes for CBD products to work, there’s two answers to that question. When you first take CBD, you’ll feel some of the effects within 15 minutes – 1hr (depending on which form you take). Customers may feel relaxed, calm, sleepy, as well as some pain-relief effects.

However, for major results, it’ll take at least a few days (and usually around a week) for enough CBD to build up in your system to feel the true effects. Below, you’ll see a graph specifically for PhenoLife products that shows the timeline you can expect for the full results to be felt:

Impact on Body

Research also suggests that CBD may have anti-inflammatory and antioxidative properties, This means it may be able to help relieve inflammatory pain associated with conditions like:

  • Chronic back pain
  • Arthritis or other inflammatory joint issues
  • Crohn’s disease or other inflammatory digestive issues
  • Any pain associated with inflammation

The antioxidative properties may help to manage or prevent diseases associated with oxidative stress, which would include:

  • Alzheimer’s
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Cancer
  • Parkinson’s
  • Inflammatory disorders

More research is needed to make any concrete claims about managing inflammation or diseases associated with oxidative stress, but the current research that is available is very promising for CBD.

Impact on Mind

Research suggests that CBD can help to manage a variety of anxiety disorders. If anxiety or stress is impacting your daily life, making it hard to focus on hobbies or work, or if it’s impacting your sleep, then CBD may end up being a great option for you.

Unlike other traditional anti-anxiety medications, like Xanax or Zoloft, CBD has very mild side-effects, and the vast majority of customers are able to tolerate CBD with no issues at all.

Impact on Sleep

Finally, CBD may help customers fall asleep and stay asleep in several ways. First, if you struggle to sleep due to chronic pain or anxiety, and CBD helps to relieve those issues, then your quality of sleep may improve. CBD also has the potential to help manage sleep disorders not induced by pain or anxiety, especially in high doses.

Unlike prescription medication sleep aids, CBD does not come with any significant negative side-effects (like extreme sedation, erratic behavior, or heavy grogginess the following day).

Conclusion

CBD offers an excellent route for customers who want to tackle health challenges that have been difficult to resolve. However, different methods of CBD can be more or less effective, as well as different formulas that contain CBD.

How does CBD work?

It’s essential to understand how CBD works with your endocannabinoid system. When you take CBD, it stimulates receptors throughout your body to create a sense of balance. This is called the “endocannabinoid system.” Your endocannabinoid system regulates things like mood and appetite. Many think that CBD helps them feel less anxious because it balances their hormones.

What are the of CBD for Anxiety?

There are many benefits of CBD for Anxiety. CBD has a calming effect on the body, which can help reduce feelings of nervousness, fear, and general unease. It can also help promote better sleep and alleviate pain.

Research has shown that CBD is as effective as traditional medicines when it comes to reducing anxiety symptoms. This is likely because it interacts with your endocannabinoid system–a system in your body that helps regulate mood and stress responses. The compounds in cannabis (both marijuana-derived CBD and hemp-derived CBD) naturally work with your endocannabinoid system to bring you relief from your anxious feelings.

Although CBD is generally considered safe, there are some potential side effects, including dry mouth and diarrhea. If you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, you should avoid using CBD.

CBD can also interact with certain medications because it affects the levels of certain chemicals in your body. You must consult your doctor before making any changes to your current medication routine if you’re taking prescription drugs.

Another risk of using CBD for Anxiety is that it might not work for everyone. Some people find that CBD has a calming effect, while others might experience the opposite and feel anxious when they take it. The difference in how we all react to CBD is due to our endocannabinoid system and what needs it’s trying to meet.

Drug interaction with CBD

CBD is a natural supplement. It’s derived from the hemp plant and contains no psychoactive compounds. Although CBD won’t produce the same effects as traditional anxiety medications, it can help with anxiety symptoms.

However, there are still some drugs that may interact with CBD and cause negative side effects. Before taking any drug, speak to your doctor about what you plan to do. If you want to take CBD oil for your anxiety, talk to your doctor about how it might affect your current medication or health condition.

CBD interacts in different ways with different drugs and supplements. For example, heart problems or diabetes could affect what kind of CBD product you take (or don’t take).

Although many people use CBD oil for Anxiety without problems, it’s essential to talk to a doctor before beginning a treatment regimen or adding any other supplements or medications into your routine.

Risk for addiction

Reports show that people who use CBD to manage their Anxiety are less likely to develop an addiction than those who take prescriptions like Xanax. However, there’s still a risk of developing an addiction to CBD because it comes from the cannabis plant. People with a history of addiction may want to consult their doctor before starting on any medication or supplement.

How to use CBD to help alleviate anxiety

Unlike , CBD for anxiety can be used to anxiety, despite its reputation for being intoxicating and anxiety-inducing. CBD for anxiety has been shown to have a favorable effect on a variety of anxiety disorders, according to several studies. Anxiolytic, or a drug for relieving anxiety, is a term that has not yet been legally assigned to CBD. Consequently, it’s your responsibility and the responsibility of an expert doctor in the field of cannabis administration-to establish whether CBD is a safe treatment for anxiety for yourself.

Anxiety with Cannabidiol (CBD)

FDA has not approved any CBD-based drugs for anxiety treatment. Several scientific investigations have found that the drug can help alleviate anxiety. In the treatment of anxiety, cannabidiol (CBD) may play a new role because of its activities on the endocannabinoid system. To assess the current data on the safety and efficacy of CBD in anxiety and anxiety-related diseases, a systematic review was conducted in the study under investigation.

CBD for of General Anxiety

Using the popular anxiety test known as the SPST, a small 2011 study examined the effects of CBD for anxiety on people with a generalized social anxiety disorder (SAD) and healthy control patients. Participants with SAD reported less anxiety and discomfort with CBD when compared to a placebo. They experienced a reduction in anxiety on par with the controls.

Men receiving the SPST were given three dosages of CBD (150 mg, 300 mg, and 600 mg) as well as a placebo eight years later in a 2019 study. was no in anxiety reduction between the 150- and 600-milligram CBD for anxiety doses, which were compared to a placebo. More CBD doesn’t always equate to benefits, as these findings demonstrate.

In contrast, a 2019 study investigated CBD is far lower dosages than typical clinical studies-some individuals consumed 25 milligrams a day, while others consumed 50 milligrams or 75 milligrams a day. To keep costs down, researchers opted for lower doses, believing that participants would be able to sustain them in their everyday lives. Most participants’ anxiety levels dropped within the first month and stayed low thereafter. Though it fluctuated a lot more than anxiety’s, sleep quality has also improved. There were just three recorded side effects among the individuals.

Antidepressant and anti-anxiety effects of CBD

At various doses of CBD oil, 397 people were studied in 2020 for their benefits on a range of conditions. Non-cancer pain and those with mental health issues reported substantial reductions in symptoms of anxiety and sadness and an increase in their capacity to carry out their normal activities. These groups also reported significant pain alleviation from CBD oil consumption.

For the most part, antidepressant medicines don’t act for days or even weeks after they’re prescribed. This is contrary to the findings of a recent animal study, which indicated that CBD for anxiety has an immediate and long-lasting antidepressant-like effect. Compared to antidepressant medicine, CBD may have fewer negative side effects. Side effects of antidepressants include insomnia, sexual dysfunction, mood changes as well as irritability. CBD for anxiety hasn’t had the same problems.

CBD for the treatment of PTSD and phobias

PTSD symptom intensity was reduced when CBD for anxiety was taken orally and delivered in conjunction with standard psychiatric care in a small 2019 research of just 11 patients. When THC is ingested alongside CBD, it has been shown to alleviate symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder.

Together, THC and CBD for anxiety have what’s known as the entourage effect, where THC amplifies the benefits of CBD while CBD for anxiety reduces the effects of THC. Exposure therapy, which helps patients dissociate particular stimuli with a fear reaction, and cognitive behavioral therapy have both been shown to benefit from the use of CBD for anxiety.

CBD for Anxiety, how to Use It

Because of the lack of FDA advice, the best way to utilize CBD for anxiety is different for everyone. The strategy that works best for one person may not work for the other. CBD for anxiety can be consumed in a variety of ways, including:

  • · Dropper bottles of oils and tinctures for oral consumption
  • · Gummies are sweet, chewable candies, generally flavored with fruit.
  • · Bottled sprays that are applied to the lips or mouth via a nozzle
  • · Taken by mouth as a pill in the form of capsules, soft gels, or tablets
  • · Inhalable vapors are produced by heating CBD oil without igniting it.
  • · Creams and gels are applied to the skin to deliver CBD for anxiety to specific areas of the body, as opposed to dried hemp plants.

To find the most effective treatment for your anxiety, you may need to try a few different approaches. Concerning CBD for anxiety absorption, vaping and smoking are more effective than edibles like gummy bears.

Anti-Anxiety CBD Dose

A proper dosage of CBD for your anxiety is also necessary. Experts advise beginning slowly and increasing the intensity as your body adapts. High doses are often the first thing tested in clinical trials. CBD for anxiety-relieving dosages that have been tested include:

  • · Patients with SAD were given 600 mg of the drug during a speech simulation.
  • · In a speech simulation, 300 milligrams were administered to male patients.

In some studies, however, lesser doses appear to be just as beneficial in reducing anxiety as the more commonly used ones.

  • · For generalized anxiety and/or sleep issues, dosages of 25 to 75 mg are recommended.
  • · In addition to regular psychiatric treatment, 33 to 49 mg a day is recommended for PTSD.

Further evidence for the premise that CBD for anxiety dosage varies greatly, depending on a person’s symptoms and physiology is provided by another study that involved hundreds of patients and found benefits with doses ranging from 40 to 300 milligrams per day.

Risks and Effects that Might Occur

CBD is considered a safe and well-tolerated drug by the World Health Organization (WHO). There are extremely few reported side effects if any. Taken with other drugs, CBD for anxiety may increase the chance of side effects such as weight gain, sleepiness, nausea, and changes in appetite, all of which can be dangerous, therefore we will recommend consulting your doctor before using CBD.

Why CBD is getting some serious attention?

CBD has all kinds of fans, from cannabis connoisseurs to those who love the wellness life

We’re hearing it everywhere CBD… People love CBD, and it’s not just for any explanation, CBD can help treat a wide range of issues, from pain and depression to anxiety. If we will take it into numbers, 62% of CBD users state they use CBD to treat a medical condition.

Don’t get it wrong, you don’t need to have a medical issue to benefit from CBD. People take CBD to better or even if they are just having a stressful day. And ’s even CBD in hair and skin-care product. In general, we can say that there are people that just take CBD for a better and full of wellness life.

Don’t be turned off by CBD because it’s a cannabinoid found in the marijuana plant. It’s almost impossible to get high when CBD is extracted from hemp, the non-psychoactive sister plant of marijuana.

CBD’s Brief History

CBD was discovered in the 1940s among other cannabinoids such as THC and CBN when pharmacology studies were first conducted on cannabis. While this may be the first time we’re extracting cannabinoids and isolated CBD, our use of cannabis has a much longer history. It’s predicted cannabis use dates back to 5,000 years ago mostly for medicinal reasons but also for recreational uses and even in religious ceremonies, also, industrial hemp was used to create paper, textiles, and rope.

How Does CBD Work?

While many people believe CBD is only another passing trend, there is real data behind CBD’s effectiveness. It all begin’s in our endocannabinoid system.

When marijuana enters our system, the cannabinoids attach to our cells using cell receptors. These cell receptors control cell-to-cell communication, helping improve many of our bodily processes.

The reason why CBD doesn’t have psychoactive properties is that CBD affects cell receptors than psychoactive cannabinoids such as THC.

CBD affects the CB2 receptors. These receptors are found throughout our body, such as in our nervous system, brain, immune system, and digestive system. This is why CBD may treat a variety of different problems

SO WHY DO PEOPLE LOVE CBD?

Even though marijuana legalization is increasing, marijuana for medicinal and/or recreational purposes is not legal in all countries. However, CBD is. As long as it’s extracted from hemp, you can buy CBD almost in any state. Research is still being done to prove its . But what we know until now is positive enough for us to use CBD and the hemp plant. While we don’t completely understand all of the CBD benefits here are some ways you may benefit from CBD:

  •  Help overcome an addiction (alcoholism, nicotine, etc.)
  • Decrease anxiety
  • Lowers blood pressure
  • Decreases pain
  • Lowers inflammation
  • Decreases pain
  • Decreases depression
  • Treats seizures
  • Aids in gut healthy

While it’s unclear if CBD can benefit specific ailments, such as cancer, CBD can help relieve the associated with these severe diseases. Besides, CBD is also a powerful antioxidant, aiding your overall health in a variety of different ways. Keep in mind, you always talk to your doctor before taking CBD and you shouldn’t replace any of your current medications with CBD unless recommended by a doctor

It’s Safe

As discussed, CBD has no psychoactive properties! Another reason why people love it. The ability to continue the daily routine without feeling stoned or unfocused. While we need to understand certain facts better, such as CBD’s interaction with other medications, studies that made already shown that CBD is a safe alternative to many different medications. Furthermore, as of now no known any cases of CBD and all other cannabis products caused any deaths.

There are many Different Ways to consume CBD

The variety of methods for taking CBD is wide. Most of the time it will depend on what you’re using CBD for, certain methods may benefit you over other methods. One of the most popular CBD consumption methods is vaping CBD. Unlike drops that take longer to feel the effects since the digestion process takes longer, the inhaling action effects instantly,  the vaping is discrete, and the vapor is easier on your lungs than smoke. If you have centralized pain, such as arthritis, you can use a CBD cream to relieve pain in that area.

Your Pets Can Even Take CBD Too

Like us, all animals have an ECS (endocannabinoid system). This means you can give CBD to your pets. The CBD may help to calm your pet and help them sleep. Many pet owners love giving CBD to an anxious pet. From what is known until today, CBD is also safe for your pets! The facts are muddier for pets than they are for humans and vets can’t write a prescription for CBD. But, It’s still you’ll talk to your vet before giving your pet CBD and not stop taking other medications.

What Do the Experts Say?

By now, we all can understand why people love CBD. But what about the experts? The reviews are mixed. Some will say the evidence isn’t there to support some of the CBD benefits. With that said, some doctors aren’t ignoring the strong evidence collected by now. While doctors can’t prescribe CBD (unless they own a medical marijuana practice), they can recommend the cannabinoid as a alternative to traditional medicine.

Nature in Treating Anxiety

In the United States, anxiety disorders are the most frequent mental illnesses, affecting an estimated 40 million over the age of 18 each year, or 18.1 percent of the total population. Anxiety disorders, which are widely accepted as highly curable, are only received by roughly 37% of those who suffer from them. Misdiagnosis, lack of access to health care, or antipathy to standard therapies may be to blame for this.

As anxiety become more prevalent, researchers, doctors, and patients alike are becoming increasingly interested in the medical use of cannabis to them. Anxiety has risen to the top of the list of permitted disorders as more states allow medicinal cannabis and other jurisdictions reexamine their medical usage policies.

That was made feasible by research into the endo cannabinoid system (ECS) and its function in homeostasis. Cannabis is being used by professionals as a first-line and adjuvant therapy in the treatment of anxiety in patients with varying degrees of efficacy, even though no specific dosage or timing guidelines exist.

Anxiety

It is both a physiological and emotional response to perceived threats. Anxiety is defined by a wide range of emotions and bodily responses, ranging from a racing heart to frantically fleeing from the source of the threat. For anxiety to be categorized as pathological, the emotional response must be excessive in terms of duration, frequency, or intensity.

A condition defined by excessive worry and emotions of fear, dread, and uneasiness that lasts six months or more,” begins the ICD-10 definition of a generalized anxiety disorder (code F41.1). 3 People who have anxiety will tell you it’s not as simple as just taking a pill.

For some people, anxiolytic symptoms are episodic while for others, they might be long-term. anxiety can cause physical symptoms like abdominal pain and headaches, and emotional reactions like being unable to get out of bed or limiting social interactions if left untreated.

Symptoms of anxiety

Phenomenons such as GAD and panic disorder can be classified into several diagnostic groups: SAD, SAD, specific phobias, PTSD, OCD, MDD, and persistent mood disorders. Major depressive disorders can also be classified into these diagnostic groups. It doesn’t matter what the diagnosis is; regardless of the severity and duration of the mental and physical symptoms, they are all the same.

Anatomy of Nerves: Neurotransmitters such as adrenaline and cortisol are released by the brain when it senses a threat, no matter how little. Constant exposure to these substances may create anxiety, difficulties concentrating, and even panic attacks in those who are already prone to these symptoms. Anxiety-induced weight gain, depression, and suicide are all possible side effects of chronic exposure to these hormones and neurotransmitters in the body and brain.

Inhalation and exhalation: During a manic episode, rapid, shallow breathing can be caused by the release of hormones in the body.

The cardiovascular system: Anxiety can cause heart palpitations, which can feel like a throbbing sensation in the chest. They are most commonly connected with panic episodes, but they can also occur with anxiety in general. Anxiety can cause a rise in blood pressure. Hypertension can develop if the condition is not addressed.

The body’s defense system: When stress hormones are released into the body regularly, the immune system is weakened, increasing the risk of bacterial and viral infections and resulting in more illnesses.

Anxiety Disorders and their Treatment

Anxiety, if left untreated, can cause major problems in one’s day-to-day activities, such as difficulty concentrating, completing daily duties, and forming or maintaining intimate connections. Anxiety can make it difficult for some people to leave the house or even get out of bed. It has been related to more problems like depression, suicide, and misuse as well as a physical illness if it is not addressed.

Anxiety disorders can be treated using a variety of approaches, each tailored to the patient’s specific symptoms and degree of severity. Medicine (covered in detail below), therapy, complementary and alternative medicine, and transcranial magnetic stimulation are the most common techniques that have been shown successful (TMS).

Antidepressants and antianxiety medicines are often prescribed in conjunction with therapy or other supportive treatment for anxiety disorders. A treatment strategy should take into account all available options, including the use of cannabis.

Therapy

It is the most frequent and effective form of anxiety therapy, which focuses on identifying and modifying one’s thinking and behavioral patterns. Anxiety-controlling ability can only be learned through active participation by the patient in therapy. In the past, patients could only communicate with their therapists in person, but now, thanks to technological improvements, they may do so over the phone, video call, or even text messaging.

TMS

When medicine and other treatments have failed to alleviate the symptoms of depression, TMS may be a safe, effective, and non-invasive alternative. Electromagnetic coils that send pulses through the scalp create a magnetic field that induces a tiny electric current in a specific area of the brain. Treatment using TMS has FDA approval.

Medication for treatment for anxiety

The use of anti-anxiety drugs for short- or long-term treatment of anxiety disorders can be done on its own or in conjunction with other approaches. Finding the drug that best treats the symptoms of a patient usually needs the patient’s patience and time.

One in six Americans, according to the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey from 2009 to 2010, takes an antidepressant or sedative medication. Using these medications, we may be able to learn more about how cannabis impacts our neural system. Anti-anxiety medications can be divided into four main types.

Selective serotonin-reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) are antidepressants that prevent some brain nerve cells from reabsorbing serotonin (citalopram, escitalopram, fluoxetine, paroxetine, and sertraline). Both venlafaxine and duloxetine (SNRIs) have a dual mode of action, which is an antidepressant. Serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake into brain cells is their main goal of theirs.

One of the most used medications for anxiety is benzodiazepines, which include lorazepam, alprazolam, clonazepam, and diazepam. Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GAB) is a neurotransmitter that has been shown to have anxiolytic (de-anxiety) properties. It has been found that three of the earliest antidepressant medications-amitriptyline, imipramine, and nortriptyline-increase norepinephrine and serotonin levels and block acetylcholine’s function.

Anxiety and the ECS

To keep things stable, no matter how much the external world changes, the ECS does a variety of things. Numerous biological processes, cognitive processes, and stress reactions, including anxiety, are influenced by the extracellular matrix (ECS). Antagonisms of the CB1 receptor and inhibitors of AEA hydrolysis both boost serotonin-producing neurons’ firing rates. It has an anxiolytic-like effect when serotonin neurotransmission is increased.

CBD has been demonstrated to reduce the activity of the enzyme that breaks down AEA, resulting in higher levels of AEA and increased serotonin activity, both of which have anxiolytic-like effects. The release of norepinephrine is stimulated by ’s effect on cannabis receptors. With the addition of CBD and THC, an SNRI-like effect can be achieved.

Cannabis’ Biphasic in Treating Anxiety

Anxiety is a typical side effect of medical cannabis use, and panic episodes of paranoia have been observed following high amounts of THC ingestion. Many patients use medicinal cannabis to relax, but anxiety is also a prevalent adverse consequence.

No wonder cannabis has both anxiogenic and anxiolytic properties when considering the role of the ECS in regulating a patient’s response to stimuli. Generally, modest doses have anxiolytic-like effects, but high doses have the opposite effect.

CBD Oil to Treat Anxiety Disorders

As a non-intoxicating cannabinoid with the potential to treat a wide range of symptoms and illnesses, Cannabis oil has recently claimed attracted considerable attention. Anxiety is the most common of these. When asked why they wanted to try CBD oil, more than 2,000 Americans said it helped with relaxation, anxiety, and sleep.

Symptoms of social anxiety in patients with SAD were reduced in a small 2011 research that used cannabis. Participants’ brain scans revealed alterations in blood flow to brain areas connected to anxiety. Participants in this study felt better, and their brains reacted differently to worry as a result.

Cannabis oil has the potential to treat a wide range of anxiety disorders, including GAD. To be clear, the majority of the study to date has focused on the effects of acute CBD delivery, therefore further research into the long-term effects of chronic calming cannabis dose is needed before any form of clinical advice is made.

Conclusion

If you’re a health care practitioner, you must understand the basics of cannabis to confidently and effectively respond to patient questions. To avoid this, patients will seek advice and affirmation from others in their social circles as well as the internet and their local marijuana dispensary. When used as part of a customized treatment strategy, cannabis can be an effective first- or second-line treatment.

Pros & Cons of CBD Oil for Anxiety & Depression

Depression is typically characterized by feelings of sadness, hopelessness, worthlessness, fatigue, low motivation and loss of interest in things usually enjoyed. Anxiety is often described as the experience of persistent unease, worry or fear about something where the source of concern is not easily identified or resolved. Both anxiety and depression can be treated using CBD.

What is ?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a chemical compound found in cannabis that has medicinal effects but does not make feel “stoned” and counteracts some of the impact tetrahydrocannabinol () creates. Many studies suggest that CBD oil has therapeutic effects in treating many conditions, including chronic pain, anxiety, depression and acne.

How Does CBD Oil Work to Treat Anxiety & Depression?

CBD oil affects the in various ways. One of its most significant impacts on mood disorders is by promoting an increase in the extracellular levels of serotonin, a neurotransmitter that regulates your mood and appetite. CBD oil also increases “brain-derived neurotrophic factor” levels, which enhances the growth of neurons and prevents brain cells from degenerating.

It’s unclear how CBD oil helps with anxiety, but it is thought to work through the CB1 receptor in the brain. The interactions between CBD oil and CB1 receptors are believed to alter serotonin messages. Low serotonin levels, a neurotransmitter linked to mood and well-being, is at the core of anxiety disorders.

CBD for Depression

The cause of depression is not well understood, but several hormones and neurotransmitters in the brain have been implicated. One of the most consistent findings reported has been low serotonin levels in people with major depression.

CBD oil is thought to intervene with serotonin regulation in several ways: It activates 5-HT1A receptors, inhibiting serotonin reuptake. It influences the number of binding sites for serotonin in the brain by increasing the availability of 5-HT1A and decreasing the availability of 5-HT2A or SERT (related to serotonin reuptake). CBD oil also reduces levels of monoamine oxidase (MAO), an enzyme that breaks down serotonin.

How to Use CBD Oil to Treat Anxiety and Depression

CBD oil is available in various forms, including capsules, tinctures, sublingual drops, oral applicators, creams and gums. The most common form of CBD oil is a concentrated solution that comes in either a spray or dropper bottle. Concentrated solutions are the simplest and easiest way to take CBD oil because you don’t need a vaporizer or special equipment.

Tinctures and sprays both use droppers to deliver the solution containing CBD directly under your tongue, where it gets absorbed in the bloodstream. Sublingual solutions and oral applicators function similarly: they are administered through absorption via the mucosal membranes in the oral cavity. The difference is how long they last before being absorbed into your body.

A sublingual solution typically starts working in 30-60 minutes, while an applicator takes 1-2 hours. Sublingual drops are also available that take effect within 5 minutes. CBD oil capsules are taken 1-3 hours before they start working.

Disadvantages of Using CBD Oil to Treat Anxiety & Depression

CBD is not psychoactive, so it doesn’t get you high. However, this is also a benefit because there are fewer unpleasant side effects. Side effects of CBD oil are rare but can include tiredness or diarrhea if the dosage is too high.

Also, CBD products are not available widely and can be pretty expensive. CBD is still classified as a Schedule 1 drug; thus, there are legal restrictions on producing and using CBD oil. Some states have not legalized CBD products making it very hard to use these products. Also, the Food and Drug Administration () has not approved any CBD-infused drug for the use of anxiety and depression.

Some CBD products sold in the market often advertise some false medical claims since these products are not FDA regulated. Many of these products are not tested for quality and may have some harmful chemicals that could cause harm. Also, some have more than 0.3% THC concentration and may cause psychoactive effects for the users.

Furthermore, CBD can interfere with the body’s ability to process certain types of medication. This includes anticoagulants, benzodiazepines, antidepressants and birth control pills. Not enough is known about the interactions between CBD oil and other psychiatric drugs.

People with liver or kidney disorders are at risk of developing complications because both organs are needed to metabolize CBD. There are currently no controlled studies on how CBD oil interacts with other psychiatric medications, but there are concerns that it may exacerbate psychosis in people who have schizophrenia.

CBD can also increase the effect of drugs that cause drowsiness, like antidepressants and . It will not interact with other herbs or supplements you may be taking. CBD may also interact with anti-epileptic medications, antianxiety drugs and some antidepressants.

How to Safely Buy CBD Oil for Anxiety & Depression

If you decide that CBD is suitable for you, several things should guide your purchase. First of all, it’s important to note that the FDA does not regulate CBD oil for sale. CBD oil is considered a dietary supplement by the FDA, so it’s not subject to rigorous testing. Buy only from reputable retailers who clearly state that their products are made with pure CBD in controlled conditions. Look for manufacturers that offer full-spectrum extracts instead of isolates for the best quality. CBD oil contains all of the other cannabinoids and in the plant, not just CBD itself.

What are the Common Side effects of CBD Oil?

CBD oil is not known to cause side effects when used by healthy adults in any amount or form. People with chronic pain should consult a doctor before using CBD oil because it can interact with drugs they are already taking and affect their condition.

CBD may also interfere with the activity of other medications, including those for seizures, blood thinning and cholesterol management. It can also raise the risk of liver damage if you have a history of alcoholism or take medications to treat alcoholic hepatitis.

Ongoing research looks into more potential side effects with antipsychotic medications for people with schizophrenia and epilepsy. However, CBD oil is widely considered safe when taken in the recommended amounts. CBD oil has even been studied for its anti-cancer properties.

New Study Finds Vaping Doesn’t Weaken Immune System Like Smoking

Whit all the negative headlines in the media these days surrounding vaping, a new study has concluded something good about vaping, especially when compared to tobacco.

Scientists from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette gave mice a dose of Streptococcus pneumoniae – the strain that leads to the majority of cases of pneumonia caught commonly by in the street or workplace. The crux of the study carried out on the mice was that vaping appeared to have less of a negative effect on the immune system than smoking.

And while smoking tobacco increases the risk of catching pneumonia, vaping does not seem to do the same. While tobacco can activate genes of the bacteria and lead to issues, according to the study, vapor did not.

The recent study on mice looked closely at gene expression patterns in the mice, who were given either E-liquid vapor with nicotine, E-liquid vapor without nicotine, and cigarette smoke. The findings were interesting and quite compelling, even if they were only from mice. The researchers found that E-liquid vapor without nicotine “switched on” just 14 genes.

E-liquid with nicotine activated 264 genes, and smoke from tobacco switched on 982 genes. Of those genes, most were in some way involved in stress response, and that’s one factor that increases the likelihood of an infection.

As Dr. Kulkarni concluded, according to the same report, “Our work is part of a long series of observations coming from a number of research labs trying to define what effects e-cigarette vapor exposure may have on human and to differentiate between the effects of flavoring chemicals and nicotine.”

At the same time, according to Carlos A. Gonzalez, Ph.D., who published the previous research related to smoking and pneumonia, smoke from tobacco causes oxidative stress and alters responses of inflammatory cells.

It was only a matter of time before researchers would set up experiments to check the safety and dangers of vaping as compared to smoking, especially in light of the recent and grave vaping controversy. The latest study is a step in the right direction for vaping, and especially for vapers who have given up smoking cigarettes and were concerned about the recent controversy.

The best advice, for now, is still to stay away from -based E-liquids and cartridges until further clarification is forthcoming from bodies like the FDA and CDC.

Bear in mind that PhenoPen contains no THC and is made from 100% with no other additives, solvents, or heavy metals.

What is CBD?

CBD is a cannabinoid derived from the plant. It is a cannabinoid that doesn’t make you high or change how your brain works at all. , the cannabinoid present in the leaves of a cannabis plant, causes a person to feel euphoric. Every single CBD flower product available for purchase does not contain THC.

Various forms of CBD, such as capsules and oils, are available on the market. It is also found in foods and beverages. CBD flowers have been said to help with a wide range of physical and mental health issues.

CBD’s Health Benefits

Okay, so you’re probably wondering, “What’s the point of taking CBD if it doesn’t make me high?” However, the advantages of CBD extend far beyond the ability to modify brain function. The following are the top health benefits of CBD flower products.

1. Insomnia and Anxiety

CBD has been demonstrated to have a calming effect on the parts of the brain associated with stress and fear. CBD stimulates the serotonin receptors in the brain to control mood and social behavior. It is comparable to antidepressants, except that it is more natural. You must exercise caution while using CBD oil to treat anxiety-related illnesses, as traces of THC can exacerbate anxiety and have the opposite effect.

2. Reliable Drug Addiction

Drug addiction impacts multiple brain circuits, causing you to develop an addiction to substances such as heroin and morphine. CBD works by reprogramming the brain circuits that stimulate addiction, your dependence on those substances.

3. Helps Cancer Patients

Several studies have demonstrated the use of CBD flowers to relieve nausea and discomfort associated with cancer therapy. Recent research indicated that CBD flower effectively reduced the adverse effects of chemotherapy, including nausea. Additionally, most of these individuals claimed that CBD alleviated their pain and discomfort.

4. Prevents and Eliminates acne

As you may be aware, sebum is a naturally occurring oil generated by the skin. A buildup of sebum on the skin’s surface can lead to the formation of acne. That is how those unsightly pimples and blackheads develop. CBD’s anti-inflammatory effects help decrease sebum production in the skin. Your acne will quickly disappear if you take CBD oil and limit your sebum production.

5. Reduces Blood Pressure

Hypertension is a significant risk factor for cardiovascular illnesses, strokes, and heart problems. Your blood pressure would be lower if you took one dose of CBD flower each day. Using CBD means you’re less likely to suffer a stroke, heart attack, or develop heart disease.

6. Prevents Diabetes

CBD protects against insulitis, a disease that damages pancreatic beta cells. Because insulitis is a significant risk factor for Type I Diabetes, eliminating it can also help prevent diabetes. And for those who already have diabetes, CBD can help alleviate some of the disease’s unpleasant side effects, including memory loss and neuroinflammation.

7. Prevents and Reduces the Symptoms of Alzheimer’s Disease

Neuroinflammation has a significant role in the progression of Alzheimer’s disease. CBD may help prevent and alleviate neuroinflammation by protecting neurons from free radicals that seek to kill them. As a result, you’re less likely to develop Alzheimer’s disease or its symptoms if you use CBD.

8. Legal in Most Countries and States

Legality is one of the advantages of CBD flower. The reduced THC content is what makes it lawful. THC is the psychoactive component of marijuana, and it is not often used in medical therapy. However, hemp is not legal in every state or country. Therefore, you must conduct thorough research before purchasing any in your region – you do not want to end up on the wrong side of the law.

9. Depresses Psychiatric Symptoms

CBD has been shown to alleviate psychotic symptoms in individuals suffering from various mental illnesses, including schizophrenia and psychosis. Despite the lack of scientific evidence, people with mental problems have found relief using CBD flowers.

What Are the Risks Associated with CBD Hemp Flower?

Even though CBD flowers have a few cons, we felt the need to bring them up for your consideration. Excessive or inappropriate use can lead to these effects; therefore, being aware of them is critical.

1. Liver Disorders

You must exercise caution when consuming CBD flowers if you have liver problems since they can exacerbate your current liver problems.

2. Tooth Decay

Prolonged inhalation of CBD flowers can cause yellowing of the teeth. It increases your possibility of getting cavities and quickly results in tooth decay.

3. CBD Affects Your Unborn Child.

CBD flowers are not recommended for pregnant women since they may affect both the kid and the mother.

4. Vomiting

Vomiting can occur if you take CBD flowers excessively. And if it happens, you’ll want to reduce your dependence on CBD flowers. However, it is unlikely in the first few days of using them.

CBD Alone Does Not Pose A Health Risk.

While CBD is not hazardous in and of itself, smoking a CBD cigarette or flower induces combustion and produces PAHs, causing the same respiratory problems as smoking tobacco. Since only a tiny amount is needed to provide a substantial impact, vaping is more cost- for CBD flowers. However, not all vaporizers are created equal. The easiest method to avoid unpleasant or unexpected chemicals is to utilize inhalation devices made entirely of pure hemp. These are free of PG, , solvents, carcinogens, and additives.

What is the best advice? Before consuming CBD flower or other CBD products, please consult with your doctor to ensure it’s safe for you and does not interfere with any drugs you’re presently taking. Some doctors prescribe CBD to their patients for conditions such as pain relief, while others are more hesitant when it comes to prescribing CBD for patients. This represents a significant effect that seems to persist even when the use of low doses like 5mg/kg save from overload of 5mg/kg ibuprofen for trauma reduction, which dulls dementia type illnesses which quickly deteriorate performance setting up emphasis on replacing mild deficiency rather than for administering build up. However, if you joke, you can have both CBD and conventional anxiolytics simultaneously for a patch that makes more sense as then direct effects become less monotonous as there’s a guided approach. Panic Anxiety Management

People describe how they use CBD to help reduce their fear under any circumstances to get back to feeling less stressed or notice some side benefits. It could be beneficial in lowering hyperventilation, panic attacks, or calm anxiety. It is almost like a steroid without the harmful side effects of typical prescription medications. It can sometimes make you feel agitated, over-drugged, or unsteady with no side effect of snoring. Some main psychoactive class Benzodiazepines have an isolating effect that interferes with the negative symptoms. Fast-acting CBD has no such problems helping you relax and help control agitation by using the GABA receptors to reduce stress. However, more channels are still needed for full clinical benefit as it may need increased frequent administration for improved effect over time versus short-term use. There is publication in clinical literature to use modest doses at a more significant time frame over a more extended period than has been mooted by some individuals who think you could fix your anxiety in under a week through these scammers make limited local consultation it into 15 minutes deter those people from picking up treatment because they probably have an amplified cry high disability in symptoms maybe chronic pain so their personal story is disallowed by public opinion yet personal experience would be preferable for sure.

Conclusion

Cannabidiol has a few challenges, significantly as a therapeutic addiction treatment for people without a previous background, typically anti-anxiety agents; hence doses must be adjusted to those individuals. Unlike some pharmaceutical anxiolytics, CBD has an actual anxiety treatment without the added side effects and restrictions caused by tranquilizers. It is no wonder with all the limitations in medical treatment when you don’t have suitable drug treatments available to you or are interested in caring for yourself.
